Sibling Support Group

For kids and teens navigating life with
a sibling who has special needs

This group is designed to give kids a place to process, connect, and feel less alone in an experience that can be hard to put into words.

Groups are thoughtfully designed and overseen by Valley Oak Counseling, and led by trained clinicians from our team.

WHO IS THIS FOR

  • Children and teens who have a sibling with medical, developmental, or neurodiverse needs

  • Young people seeking peers who “get it” and a safe space to practice new skills

WHAT THEY’LL GAIN

  • Language for big feelings at home and school

  • Tools to manage stress and tough moments

  • Connection with peers who understand

  • Practical skills for communication and problem-solving

  • Greater confidence and self-care habits

PROGRAM DETAILS

Format: 8 weekly 50-minute group sessions, plus two 30-minute parent check-ins

Location: In-person at our Lafayette office

Schedule: Sessions begin the week of April 6

  • Grades K-2: Fridays at 4:30pm

  • Grades 3-5: Thursdays at 3:30pm

  • Grades 6-8: Wednesdays at 3:30pm

  • Grades 9-12: Tuesdays at 6:30pm

ENROLLMENT & TUITION

  • $900 for the full program

  • Partial need-based scholarships are available through Wellspring Educational Services. Wellspring community members may contact Robin@Wellspringeducation.org for more information.
